I recently went out to Ballard to do a shoot with aspiring model Maddi and make-up artist Bridget Wojtowicz. Our original theme got scrapped at the last minute due to a cold-snap that hit Seattle days before the shoot. So our back-up plan was a rocker-girl fashion shoot. This is an excellent thing to keep in mind. ALWAYS have a back-up plan. Especially when shooting outdoors.

Portrait A Week

I recently finished my first Photo-A-Day project, and had a lot of fun with it. I really felt like my photography, and especially my lighting grew in giant leaps and bounds. Through shear repitition and practice my photography my skills and comfort level with my gear improved, and I’m starting to edge my way towards what I consider to be a professional-level of photography and I began to find my photographic style. But more needs to be done. Lots more.

A Beauty Dish Can Only Do So Much, I’m Not A Magician

This weekend I made myself a beauty dish out of some metal bowls I picked up at the local department store. I was following a great tutorial I found on DIYPhotography.net, but my good friend Tyler helped me modify the design to make it a bit more flexible.
